Recovery sessions, powered by Aescape. Fully clothed, from 15 minutes, no tipping. 56 answers, grouped by what you are actually wondering.
The basics
ARC Recovery brings recovery sessions, powered by Aescape, into premium gyms, spas, and residential buildings. A fully autonomous table scans your body and delivers a personalized, deep-tissue-style session while you stay completely clothed. Named a TIME Best Invention of 2024.
The technology is powered by Aescape. ARC operates and maintains the machines at your venue and keeps the experience running, so you get the same quality every time. Aescape builds the technology; ARC brings it to your gym, building, or spa.
When you lie down, the machine runs a detailed 1.1-million-point 3D scan of your body and builds a personalized recovery map. Two synchronized arms then deliver the session, adapting pressure, speed, and technique to you in real time. It was developed alongside licensed therapists. The goal is to complement great bodywork, not replace it.
No. Think of it as a different tool in your recovery routine. It gives you consistent, on-demand, precision recovery any day you want it, with no scheduling back-and-forth and no tipping. Many people use it between their regular bodywork sessions, not instead of them.
The machine focuses on your back, shoulders, glutes, hamstrings, and calves, the areas where most of us hold tension and need recovery after training.
Yes. You can choose Full Body, Upper Body, or Lower Body, and the 3D scan maps your body so the session is targeted to you. There are 20 preprogrammed sessions, and you can fine-tune with the "Tailor Your Aescape" option.
The technology behind ARC is the same one you will find at the top of the industry. Aescape technology deployed at premium operators including Equinox, Life Time, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton. There are 130+ machines nationwide.
The experience
No. You stay fully clothed the entire time. On arrival you will change into Aerwear, a lightweight, high-compression bodysuit we provide that helps the machine read your body accurately and glide smoothly.
Quick and easy: hair up, no neck jewelry, tuck your shirt into your pants, and no shoes. Comfortable athletic or everyday clothing works well since you stay clothed throughout. Then slip into the Aerwear we hand you. That is it.
You lie down fully clothed in the Aerwear bodysuit. The machine runs its 1.1-million-point 3D scan and builds your personalized recovery map. It sets pressure, speed, and technique for you, then the session begins and adapts in real time as it works.
You are in control the whole way through. Pressure, session type, music, lighting, and the headrest, leg rest, and arm rest all adjust to you. There are multiple ways to pause or stop instantly at any moment.
It is a solo, self-guided session. No therapist in the room, no small talk, no awkward moments. Venues set the machine in a private, enclosable space, though the exact setup varies by location. An on-site team member hands you your bodysuit, or you can grab one from the labeled cabinets in the room, then points you to the machine and helps if you have questions. Just you and your recovery.
Yes. Your preferred pressure, focus areas, and pace are saved, so each session feels the way you like it.
Choose 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on how much time you have and what you need. The 15-minute option is called Express, with upper-body and lower-body Express variations.
Is it safe?
Very. It includes built-in Pause and Emergency Stop controls, and it was designed with licensed therapists. It has a 90% satisfaction rate.
Yes. Every session starts with a quick health acknowledgment that asks about pre-existing conditions, injuries, medications, and pregnancy status, so the session is appropriate for you.
Sessions are not recommended for people who are pregnant or who have certain conditions, including recent surgery, a pacemaker, blood-clotting disorders, or severe spinal issues. Please review the contraindications and check with your physician first.
Aescape does not recommend sessions for individuals who are pregnant. Please review the contraindications before booking and check with your physician about what is right for you.
Yes. The minimum age is 18. Check with the front desk for any additional venue-specific policy.
Many people use the machine for general recovery and muscle relief. That said, we cannot make medical claims about treating a condition. If you have chronic pain or a diagnosed condition, talk with your physician about whether this kind of recovery session is right for you.
Booking and getting started
Use the Book a session button on this site, or book on the spot when you arrive. Every session runs on a booking, and you can make one onsite in under a minute. Booking ahead is the surest way to get the time you want.
It depends on the location, and we cannot promise a machine will be open. Where Walk-Ins are welcome, you will still make a quick booking onsite. Each location has its own policy:
- INA Spa (Chicago): welcomes outside Walk-Ins, subject to availability.
- Flow Brickell (Miami): open to residents of Flow buildings in Miami; not open to outside Walk-Ins.
- Elev8tion (Miami): welcomes outside Walk-Ins, subject to availability.
Yes. Members typically get priority booking over Walk-Ins, so it is easier to get the time slot you want.
It is fast. Grab a bodysuit or take one from the labeled cabinets in the room, scan the QR code at the machine, follow a few prompts, and your session is rolling in moments. Every booking confirmation also includes a short tutorial video so you know exactly what to do.
The easiest way is to visit and ask the front desk or concierge. They will hand you a bodysuit, point you to the machine, and help you start. A 15-minute Express session is a low-commitment way to see how it feels.
The on-site team member, front desk, concierge, or recovery-area lead is briefed on the basics: what it is, how much it costs, and how to sign up.
Your session may be shortened. The next booking still starts on time, so arriving late means a little less time on the machine rather than a later finish.
Never. No tipping, that is built in. It quietly saves you the 15 to 20% you would tip at a traditional spa.
Pricing, memberships and value
Pricing varies a little by location. Current single-session rates and membership prices are in the pricing section of the homepage, or just ask and we will give you the exact price.
Pay when you book; checkout is secure.
Often at launch events, venues offer a free 15-minute Express session to introduce people to the machine. Watch your venue's announcements, signage, and emails.
With a membership plus HSA/FSA with a Letter of Medical Necessity, sessions can come down to about $10 to 15 each on Unlimited at near-daily use. Use the calculator to see your exact monthly and per-session cost.
They may be, with a Letter of Medical Necessity. With that letter on file, memberships and sessions may be HSA/FSA eligible, which is a big part of how the per-session cost drops so low. Your benefits administrator confirms eligibility.
Plans are the same everywhere; monthly rates vary by location. For current rates, see the pricing section of the homepage. Here is what each plan includes:
- Express
- 1 hour of recovery a month. Split it however you like into 15, 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions.
- Restore
- 2 hours of recovery a month. Split it however you like into 15, 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions.
- Revive
- 3 hours of recovery a month. Split it however you like into 15, 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions.
- Unlimited
- Up to 30 minutes a day. Up to 30 minutes of recovery, every day.
All memberships are month-to-month, no contracts. Unused time rolls for 3 months in total (the month it is issued plus two more), so it does not expire at month end. Revive is available at every location.
It depends on how often you come in. If you are doing several sessions a month, a membership usually costs less per session, includes 10% off additional single sessions, and gives priority booking over Walk-Ins. If you are just trying it out, start with a Single Session and upgrade later.
Yes. If you use up your included time, you can book additional single sessions, and Members get 10% off those extra sessions. There is also a 4x15 Boost Pack, four 15-minute sessions as a one-time add-on, if you want a quick top-up without changing your plan. The current Boost Pack price is in the pricing section.
The first 30 Members at each location lock in founding pricing for life and receive a free Aerwear bodysuit (about $120 value). As long as you keep your membership active, your founding rate does not increase. If you cancel, the founding rate is gone and you would re-subscribe at the then-current regular price. Once those spots are filled, they are gone.
Yes, there are no long-term contracts and you can cancel anytime. If you are on a founding rate and you cancel, you will not be able to get that founding rate back later. If you cancel within a year, we ask you to pay for the bodysuit.
HSA / FSA
These answers are general information about health-spending accounts, not financial or medical advice. Eligibility depends on your plan and provider; confirm with your benefits administrator.
It is a document from a qualified healthcare provider stating that a service supports a medical need. For HSA/FSA reimbursement, your plan generally needs this letter on file. Your provider and benefits administrator are the final word.
ARC provides an HSA/FSA reimbursement guide with a ready-to-use Letter of Medical Necessity template. Download it from the calculator page, or ask the front desk for a copy, and confirm the specifics with your own benefits administrator before assuming a session is reimbursable.
Sessions are positioned as wellness recovery, not a medical procedure, so they are not billed to standard health insurance. The HSA/FSA route with a Letter of Medical Necessity is the path for using pre-tax health dollars where eligible.
Perks and amenities
Every session includes access to INA Spa's steam showers and infrared sauna, before or after. Book 30 minutes or longer and you also get a free RAW Gym day pass (RAW is INA's sister club just behind the spa) plus one free INA class: Mat Pilates, Sculpt, Yoga, Flow, or whatever is on the schedule that day, availability permitting.
Book a 30-minute session or longer and you will receive an Elev8tion day pass.
Recovery circuit and other modalities
At some locations, yes. Depending on the venue, ARC adds modalities like red light therapy (zero UV), compression therapy, and infrared. Availability varies by site, so check what your venue offers.
At venues with multiple recovery offerings, you can combine them into a circuit, for example cold plunge, then infrared sauna, then an ARC recovery session. It is a way to stack recovery tools into one visit. Ask your venue whether they offer a recovery circuit.
At some venues, yes. Sessions can be bundled into existing spa packages or recovery offerings. The front desk can tell you what is available.
Results and benefits
People use it for muscle recovery, tension relief, and a quick reset, especially after a workout. The practical benefits are convenience and consistency: no booking hassle, no tipping, fully clothed, and the same personalized quality every time. It has a 90% satisfaction rate.
There is no single rule; it depends on your goals and how your body feels. Some people do a quick 15-minute Express session after each workout. Membership plans are built around regular use, from about 4 sessions a month up to once a day on Unlimited. If you have a medical condition, ask your physician what frequency makes sense for you.
Yes, that is one of the most popular uses. A 15-minute Express session right after a workout is built exactly for that: fast, fully clothed, no scheduling.
Hygiene and privacy
Yes. Aerwear bodysuits are laundered and sanitized between uses; face-cradle covers are single-use. The fully clothed, bodysuit-based design keeps the experience clean, and the on-site team manages the recovery area.
Yes. You will receive a freshly laundered and sanitized Aerwear bodysuit for every session, handed to you by the on-site team or available from the labeled cabinets in the room.
The machine uses a 1.1-million-point scan to personalize your session. ARC treats body-measurement data as personal and sensitive and does not use it to identify you. For specifics on how scan and account data are handled, see the privacy terms provided when you sign up, or ask ARC directly. Refer to ARC's official privacy policy for the controlling terms.
